VAT Add to cart .. If you want to start karate, you need the right gear for both training and your first fights. For your training sessions, you’ll need a **gi and a belt**. To meet this need, we’ve created our karate kata set. It features a quality gi that **is suitable for both children and adults**. Add to that two stitched belts and you have the essential equipment to progress confidently in karate and prepare for your first katas. For competitors, we offer **sets including gi and belts approved by the WKF** (World Karate Federation). For sparring, you can choose from our protection sets, which are available in three practice levels: - **Beginner sets** (or starter) include a reversible chest guard, karate gloves, and foot guards. - **Advanced sets** add shin guards for extra protection. - **Expert sets** include certified protective headgear to keep you safe during your kumite. This classification lets you invest according to your level and budget for sparring. ## Why choose our sets? For nearly 50 years, martial arts have been our specialty. By choosing our Budo-Fight product sets, you’re guaranteed to invest in **quality gear, approved and built to last**. Many top athletes trust us to support them throughout their careers: our equipment has proven itself for decades! ## Choosing the right size for your gear When selecting one of our sets, you’ll need to **choose the right size for your gear**. The size of your gi is especially important! Made from white cotton fabric, **the gi should never restrict the wearer’s movements**. That’s why we suggest choosing a size by adding 5 centimeters to your actual height. This choice will help anticipate how your gi reacts to its first machine washes and ensure you keep a regulation fit: a jacket that covers half your forearms and your hips, and pants that fall to the first third of your shins. For protection sets, sizing is **based on US sizes**. For this reason, we recommend choosing the same size you usually wear for your clothing. For more details, you can refer to **[our size guide](https://www.budo-fight.com/en/guides/size-guide-gis)** or contact our customer service, who will be happy to answer your questions.
