The Sai [...See more](#) The **Shureido Black Sai** is a premium version of the **traditional Sai weapon**, crafted by **Shureido**, a brand renowned for its high-quality martial arts equipment, especially for **kobudo** and **karate**. The **Sai** is a three-pronged weapon of **Okinawan** origin, primarily used in **kobudo** for both defense and offense, while also serving as an extremely effective tool for developing **technique** and **coordination**. The **Sai** is a traditional weapon, often used in pairs (one in each hand), and is distinguished by its unique shape: a long **trident** with a straight central shaft and two side prongs forming a right angle. These prongs are used to **block**, **trap**, and **disarm** the opponent. Thanks to its distinctive design, it offers great **flexibility** in combat, allowing the user to perform a range of **blocking techniques**, **precise strikes**, **deflections**, and even **disarmaments**. ## Features of the **Shureido Black Sai**: **High-Quality Materials**: The **Shureido Black Sai** is made from **premium materials** to ensure outstanding **strength** and **durability**. The body of the Sai is typically crafted from high-quality **metal**, often **stainless steel**, treated to provide optimal **solidity** without sacrificing **elegance** or **balanced weight**. The side prongs may be reinforced to enhance impact resistance. **Black Finish**: The **Shureido Black Sai** stands out with its **elegant matte black finish**, usually achieved through a special **coating** process that gives it a striking visual appearance. This finish is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also helps reduce glare—an advantage during combat or practice. The black coating also helps **protect the weapon** from wear and environmental conditions, ensuring greater longevity. **Design and Balance**: The balance of the **Shureido Black Sai** is meticulously engineered for a **perfect grip**. The central shaft is generally of medium length (about **40 to 45 cm**), with **side prongs** of suitable size, allowing for both **blocking** and striking movements while maintaining optimal weapon control. Balance is crucial, as a poorly balanced Sai can make techniques less effective and tire the hand more quickly. **Weight and Dimensions**: The **Shureido Black Sai** is designed to be **relatively lightweight**, allowing practitioners to move the weapon quickly in various directions without sacrificing power. However, it remains **heavy** enough to generate impact during strikes and blocks. The dimensions of the Shureido Sai also allow for smooth handling, with slightly curved **side prongs** that make it possible to perform circular blocks and strikes. **Ergonomics and Grip**: The **handle** of the **Shureido Black Sai** is designed to be **comfortable** and **non-slip**, providing a firm hold even in intense training sessions. The central part of the weapon is often slightly **textured** or **curved** to improve grip, reducing fatigue during extended practice. This allows practitioners to execute quick movements without fear of losing the weapon. ## **Key features of this model:** - Matte black - Length: size M (48cm) or size L (52cm) - Sold as a pair - Weight: 1.55 kg - **Imported from Japan** Technical features and care - Brand : [Shureido](https://www.budo-fight.com/en/brands/shureido) - Color : **Noir** Shipping & Returns Shipping and returns information coming soon.
