After his workday, he **trained** on sewing machines and experimented with **leatherworking**. He then started improving gloves, and eventually began making them himself. When his first gloves were **approved** by the local boxing commission, the young Cleto Reyes ensured they were used at the **1945 World Championships**. However, it was not until **1965** that the brand gained international recognition: when it began **exporting to the United States**. Today, about **70% of all world champions** have trained or fought with Cleto Reyes gloves (Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Manny Pacquiao, and Anthony Joshua among them). All the brand's gloves are **made in Mexico** in a **small workshop** near Mexico City. ![Cleto Reyes](https://www.budo-fight.com/storage/media/14929/conversions/2f27c0215987987.677939ae0fb8d-store.webp)
