Previously, practitioners wore a judo gi, or if not, everyday clothes or even pajamas. In the 1950s, **Shizuo Sugiura**, the founder of the brand, had the brilliant idea to start making karate uniforms **for his close friends and family**. Closely connected to many masters of the discipline, Shizuo Sugiura began distributing numerous Tokaido karate gis and **improved them based on the feedback he received**. Over time, this is how the brand became a true benchmark whose reputation is second to none. Today, Tokaido is recognized as the global standard of quality! ## Tokaido karate products on Budo-Fight Budo-Fight, a specialist in martial arts and combat sports, could not overlook a brand like Tokaido!
