Do you love horseback riding and horses? Are you passionate about karate? Budo-Fight brings your two passions together and announces the creation of the **first-ever horseback karate tournament**. An equestrian joust that promises to be spectacular and full of twists and turns. This rather surprising practice is enjoying **huge success across the Atlantic**. As a pioneer, Budo-Fight wanted to introduce you to this discipline as a sneak preview. Come and discover it on **May 14 & 15** in our karate stable! ## What are the rules? ![Karaté à cheval](https://www.budo-fight.com/upload/images/2022/karate-cheval3.jpg)The goal of the game? **Score as many points as possible** and **stay in the saddle** when the referee announces the end of the match. If you fall off your horse, you automatically lose the round, even if you were far ahead of your opponents in points. To score points, you can use several techniques. The **basic karate strikes** are allowed, whether delivered **with your feet or fists**. Choku Zuki, Haito-Uchi, and Mae Geri will help you climb the scoreboard. But be careful not to fall off your horse! The only requirement? **No violence towards the horses**, and **always remain courteous**. If the referee notices a violation of these fundamental rules, you will be **immediately disqualified** from the competition. ## When and where will the tournament take place? ![Karaté à cheval](https://www.budo-fight.com/upload/images/2022/karate-cheval.jpg)To take part in our tournament, or simply to attend this sporting event that will go down in history, join us on **May 14 & 15** in Normandy, at the **Hippodrome des 3 pipes**, located in Bihorel. The festivities will kick off **at 11am on Saturday** with an equestrian show by the **"Ipponey" troupe**, specialists in martial arts demonstrations on horseback. The matches will start **around 1pm** and will last most of the afternoon. The winners of this first round will face off **the next day** in the **grand final, scheduled for 2pm**. **A refreshment stand and several food trucks** will be available so you can grab a bite and enjoy a great time with family or friends. **Introductory sessions in karate and horseback riding** will be offered for our youngest spectators. ## How can you participate? ![Karaté à cheval tournoi](https://www.budo-fight.com/upload/images/2022/karate-cheval2.jpg)If you hope to become one of our majestic "karatequestrians," you simply need to **know how to ride a horse** and **master the basics of karate**. You’ll also need to meet a few additional requirements: - Be **over 18 years old**, - Have a **medical certificate** stating you are fit for this discipline, - Be **licensed in a karate club** in France, - Not be **allergic to horses** or ponies. - **Come with the right gear**: a [complete karate gi](https://www.budo-fight.com/en/product/karate-gi-initiation), an equestrian helmet, and the [basic protective gear](https://www.budo-fight.com/en/catalog/karate/karate-protective-gear).
