[We mentioned it last March](https://www.budo-fight.com/en/news/news-new-arrivals/mma-is-a-ufc-event-coming-soon-to-france), when rumors about a **potential UFC event** in France were circulating online. During UFC Night Fight in London, [**Dana White**](https://boxemag.com/palmares/dana-white-president-de-lufc-biographie/) hinted at the arrival of the MMA organization in France **sometime in 2022**. It’s now official: the UFC will host its first event in France in 2022. A **historic first** for the world of MMA! ## Mark your calendars, UFC Paris is coming! French fans have been waiting for years, and for several months now, the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship has seemed very supportive of the project. France is indeed a country where MMA is a **popular** combat sport and where the market is **very significant**. This is often visible on social media or during televised matches. However, the **legalization of the sport**, and especially of professional fights, took time and only came into effect in **2020**. It’s easy to imagine that this was the opportunity **Dana White** was waiting for to make the event official. Now it’s a done deal: for this first French edition, the world’s most famous MMA league has decided to organize a **UFC Fight Night** on **Saturday, September 3 at the AccorHotel Arena in Paris**. ## Disappointed fans? While many fans quickly celebrated the news, some were not entirely satisfied and expected more from Dana White’s organization. Indeed, for this first UFC event in France, it will only be a simple **Fight Night**. This type of event, which is less significant than the **Numbered Fights** that usually feature bigger headliners, doesn’t quite live up to what fans were hoping for. Despite this slight disappointment, there’s no doubt that many will attend to celebrate this first in France. However, one key question remains: **who will be on the fight card**? ## Ciryl Gane headlining? What better way to honor France at this exceptional event than with a **French UFC fighter**? On this night, **Ciryl Gane** will face [**the man who could have fought at UFC London this summer**](https://lasueur.com/ufc-tai-tuivasa-aspinall-ciryl-gane-24-05-2022), Australian **Tai Tuivasa**. It’s been a tough start to the year for Gane, who suffered **the first loss of his career** in the heavyweight bout against **Francis Ngannou** at **UFC 270**. That fight was his chance to win a UFC belt. Nicknamed the “**bon gamin**,” he was the very first Frenchman to fight for the ultimate title, making the defeat all the more **bitter**. The **world number one** in the heavyweight division is far from giving up and is determined to win against Tai Tuivasa, currently ranked **third** in the world heavyweight rankings. He won’t be the only one representing the French flag in the fights: **Manon Fiorot** will also be there, facing world number two, American **Katlyn Chookagian**. After breaking into the top 5 earlier this year, this fight could bring Fiorot even closer to the coveted title: **the UFC belt**. Other fights have been announced: Italian **Marvin Vettori** will face Australian **Robert Whittaker**, and Tajik **Makhmud Muradov** will fight Russian **Abusupiyan Magomedov**. Additionally, other French names were mentioned in the UFC’s press release: **Benoît Saint-Denis** and **Nassourdine Imavov**. In the coming days, we’ll see which fighters are officially announced for the matches at this Fight Night. ## Tickets available soon The **octagon** will soon be in Bercy… All that’s left is to put on [your best pair of gloves](https://www.budo-fight.com/en/catalog/mma/mma-gloves) and quickly book your ticket for UFC Paris!
