It’s not always easy, as **different brands** use different sizing references for martial arts gear. **Budo-Fight** explains everything you need to know to get a martial arts belt that fits you perfectly! ## HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT BELT SIZE ![Comment choisir la taille d'une ceinture de judo](https://www.budo-fight.com/upload/images/guide-ceinture.jpg)For a **stitched belt** (which requires a **double knot**), you generally want a belt length equal to **twice your waist circumference, plus 110 to 120 cm**. This way, you can tie your belt and still have **ends of 20 to 30 cm** on each side. Your martial arts belt won’t be too tight or too loose, so it won’t restrict your movement. **For example**: if your waist is **80 cm**, you should choose a belt that’s **280 cm** long (80 cm x 2 + 120 cm = 280 cm). You don’t even need to grab your calculator! Are you a martial arts instructor?
