Here it is at last, the one we've all been waiting for... Cobra Kai Season 5! After a season 4 packed with twists and turns, season 5 promises to be intense and full of surprises. Budo-Fight brings you everything you need to know about the upcoming Cobra Kai season 5. **WARNING: Season 4 spoilers ahead!** ![cobra-kai-saison5-karaté-budo-fight](https://www.budo-fight.com/upload/images/cobra-kai3.jpg) ## When will Cobra Kai Season 5 be released? The filming of **season 5** not only started, but was also completed back in **December 2021**! While Netflix has yet to announce an official release date, many fans believe the new season will be released very soon (spring-summer 2022). Traditionally, Cobra Kai seasons are released around New Year’s, but this time filming wrapped up quickly. Plus, Netflix is making every effort to reduce the wait between seasons to keep the audience’s interest high. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a smooth post-production process so we can see our favorite protagonists Johnny Lawrence and Daniel Larusso back in action as soon as possible! By the way, if you feel inspired by the series and its characters, Budo-Fight has put together product selections inspired by the main characters just for you! [Johnny Lawrence Selection](https://www.budo-fight.com/en/selection/johnny-lawrences-selection-cobra-kai) [Daniel Larusso Selection](https://www.budo-fight.com/en/selection/daniel-larussos-selection-cobra-kai) ## Will Cobra Kai Season 5 be the last? The answer is no, much to the delight of the show’s fans. Josh Heald, the series’ co-creator, has announced that the show will **go well beyond** this season. According to him, **the future is already planned**. ## What will happen in Cobra Kai Season 5? Season 5 promises to be intense and may even bring back some characters from the distant past of the Karate Kid franchise... Take a look. - In the final episode of season 4, **Miguel heads to Mexico** to learn more about his roots and, more specifically, to meet his father. Johnny follows him there to bring him back. Will this journey turn into a rite of passage for both characters? Will it bring them closer together? We’re still in the dark, as we know nothing about Miguel’s father yet… - The Cobra Kai team wins the **All-Valley tournament** in season 4… thanks to a bribe Kreese paid to the referee. Will Kreese be exposed by Tori in season 5? If so, will the Cobra Kai students go their separate ways? Will they join forces with Miyagi-Do? ![cobra-kai-budofight-karaté](https://www.budo-fight.com/upload/images/cobra-kai-jacob-bertrand-xolo-mariduena-1014x570.jpg) - Also, after losing the tournament, Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence are forced to **close their respective dojos: Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang**. But if Kreese’s scheme is revealed, will they reopen their dojos? Will they open a new one together? One thing is certain, their karate careers are far from over… - Let’s also remember that **Terry Silver betrays Kreese** by sending him to jail in the final episode. Will Kreese get out? Will Terry take over the Cobra Kai empire? If Kreese was public enemy number one until Terry Silver’s return, it turns out Terry’s comeback is even more explosive and far scarier than the brute who ruled Cobra Kai up to now. ![terry-kreese-cobra-kai-karate](https://www.budo-fight.com/upload/images/terry-kreese.jpg) - A small but important detail: Robby seems to have turned young Kenny into a real bully. What will become of this character? Is it reasonable to think he’ll **join the ranks of Cobra Kai**? - The end of season 4 also marks the **return of Chozen** (Karate Kid II), who teams up with Daniel. What role will he play in season 5? - Finally, Terry Silver explains that he plans to call on *“old friends”*—which, without much doubt, refers to Mike Barnes, who appeared in Karate Kid III. And his return doesn’t bode well… ![Cobra-Kai-Karaté-Budo-fight](https://www.budo-fight.com/upload/images/cobra-kai2.jpg) In any case, the show is far from over. Just read this statement from Jon Hurwitz, screenwriter of Cobra Kai season 5: *“Everyone knew we were going to have a tournament for season 4, but no one knows what direction season 5 will take. There are going to be some absolutely crazy things; if you’re a fan of the franchise, maybe you’ll see some familiar faces, or maybe not; but one thing’s for sure, there will be plenty of karate scenes.”* Did all this make your mouth water? Ours too! ## Karate gi worthy of Cobra Kai Have you always dreamed of becoming one of the Cobra Kai series protagonists in real life? **Join the karate club of your choice** and punch and kick to your heart’s content!
